TECHNICAL QUESTIONS
Why Basic Technical Knowledge is Important for a PM?
A Product Manager sits at the intersection of business, design, and engineering. Having a basic technical understanding is crucial because it allows PMs to:
- Communicate effectively with engineers: Understand their language, constraints, and trade-offs.
- Assess feasibility: Determine if a proposed feature or solution is realistic.
- Make informed decisions: Balance user impact, technical complexity, and business goals.
- Prioritize effectively: Identify which technical tasks are critical and which can be deferred.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve: Understand root causes of performance, reliability, or integration issues.
Without technical knowledge, PMs risk misaligned expectations, delayed timelines, and missed opportunities for innovation.
